Reception Hours & Public Holidays
Attention: Dear visitors to the Consulate General of Japan in Melbourne
For the interim, if your temperature is detected to be more than 37.5℃ after testing you will not be able to enter the Consulate-General of Japan in Melbourne.In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, thermograph (body temperature measuring) cameras have been installed at the entrance of the Consular Section. All visitors are required to take this temperature check upon arrival. This will be overseen by the Security guard.
In principle if your body temperature is above 37.5℃ you will be denied entry into the Consulate. If you have a fever or are feeling unwell, please visit our office after you have recovered.

*Due to the COVID-19 situation, the Consulate-General of Japan in Melbourne is open from 9am till 12:30pm on Mondays to Fridays. We accept visitors by appointment only. Please make a booking online here.

How to use our building's elevator


1. When arriving at the consulate
In the our building, the elevators do not have buttons inside. Instead, there are touch panels outside the elevators. Below are detailed instructions for how to use the touch panels to get to Level 25, where the Consulate-General of Japan is located.
