Display Area
The Information and Culture Section administers a display area for exhibitions. If you are a Japanese artist or your art has a Japanese influence, you may wish to exhibit your work. To apply, please read the display guidelines then fill in the application form. Email the completed form to meljapan@mb.mofa.go.jp along with images of at least three artworks from the proposed exhibition.

E-Newsletter
The Information and Culture Section sends out a monthly e-newsletter called "Friends of Japan", which lists local Japan-related cultural events.

Cultural Items for Loan
We have a small collection of cultural items available for borrowing.
These are:
Clothing: yukata (cotton kimono), obi (belt), geta (shoes), happi (festival coat)
Japanese flags: medium (120cm×180cm) or large (145cm×215cm)
Musical instruments for display: koto (stringed instrument), wadaiko (drum)
Tatami mats

Items can generally be borrowed for two weeks. Please book as early as possible using the form.

Nominal Support
Organisers of events promoting Japan or Japanese culture in Victoria, South Australia or Tasmania can apply for nominal support from the Consulate-General of Japan in Melbourne.
