Consular/ Administration/ Accounting Clerk at the Consulate-General of Japan, Melbourne
Position Details:
Job title: Consular/ Administration/ Accounting Clerk
Employment status: Full time
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:00 (weekend and after hours work may be required for special events.)
Recess: 1 hour (13:00-14:00)
Annual salary range: Commensurate with experience
Employment period: Two years (including a six-month trial period), subject to further renewal upon agreement by both parties
Job Description:
1. Assistance with Consular services (Passports, Family register, Certificates, Visas, Overseas Voting and Assisting Japanese nationals)
2. Assistance with accounting
3. Assistance with administration
4. Assistance with reception duties
5. Handling of telephone enquiries
6. Other duties as required, including those of other sections
Qualifications and Skills:
1.Applicants must be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident (Including Visa Sub Class 820 and 309)
2. Basic Microsoft Office and typing skills
3. Excellent command of both English and Japanese (Writing & Spoken, JLPT N1 equivalent)
4. Be able to travel (overnight) to South Australia/ Tasmania a few times a year
5. Demonstrated communication and administrative skills
6. Ability to perform effectively and cooperatively within a team environment
7. Professional telephone manner
8. Availability to work on weekends and after hours to cope with unexpected incidents
9. Ability to carry heavy items
10. Holding an Australian full driver's licence
